Meet Mrs. Gurgol
Welcome to my website! I have been a teacher in Independence for 16 years. I live in North Royalton and am married to Mr. Gurgol. We have 4 children who are now grown up. Our oldest son went to CVCC in high school and graduated in Heating and Air Conditioning. He also joined the Marine Corps Reserves and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005. We have two daughters and a son who graduated from The Ohio State University. Three of our four children went to CVCC for part of their high school years where they gained valuable hands-on experience.
I enjoy sports, music, and theatre because our children were involved in football, basketball, soccer, tennis, softball, baseball, track, band, and performing arts. Mr. Gurgol and I spent many years supporting all of these activities and still enjoy every one. I also enjoy reading a good book and playing the piano.
I graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1974. I was a teacher in the Parma City Schools for 6.5 years and then took off some time for my children's early years. I returned to teach as a full-time substitute in the North Royalton Schools before I came to Independence as the Title I Teacher. Keeping up with the best in education, I regularly take graduate level courses to renew my K-8 teaching license. I love my job and the people of Independence. It has been a wonderful experience getting to know the children and to help them become successful in school.
