READING & MATH PLUS / TITLE I TUTORING
WHAT IS TITLE I TUTORING? Title I is a targeted assistance program for children who have been identified as needing additional instruction and support in the subjects of reading and /or mathematics. Students are selected through a combination of factors including standardized test scores, classroom performance, and teacher referral. Students receive tutoring on a regular basis during the school day until they are independent and confident in the subject area. Parent permission is required before tutoring can occur.
Title I is a Federally Funded Program that requires consistent and ongoing support for the student in cooperation with parents and the regular classroom teacher. Students may enter or exit the program any time during the school year as their need is evaluated.
